Describing a house con there is/are:
There’s a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms... (Nombramos muchas habitaciones, pero el verbo está en singular porque el primer objeto de la lista es singular).
There are two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen... (Aquí como el objeto inmediato al verbo es plural, el verbo está en plural).

some /səm, acentuado sʌm/ UK  US  adjetivo,  pronombre, adverbio
1 En ocasiones equivale a  unos/unas,  algunos/algunas o parte pero muchas veces no tiene equivalente en español, sobre todo cuando precede o sustituye a un sustantivo singular:
 We need some bread (esto es porque “bread” es incontable).
 Necesitamos pan.
 He brought some biscuits.
 Trajo unas galletas.
 Some of the cups were broken.
 Algunas tazas estaban rotas.
 I left some papers in the box.
 Dejé algunos papeles en la caja.

En oraciones negativas e interrogativas no se usa some sino any. En las negativas any significa ningún(a).
I didn’t leave any papers in the box.
 No dejé ningunos papeles en la caja.
Did you leave any papers in the box?
¿Dejaste algunos papeles en la caja?


He was killed / murdered.
Somebody killed him.

They are happy because they rented the house.
...
